Dato’ Majid has extensive experience in the setting up, regulatory planning, and rehabilitation of finance and insurance institutions. He started his banking career in Bank Negara Malaysia in 1977 and held various supervisory roles across key departments, from audit to economic, bank, and insurance regulations. He was the Chief Executive Officer of Pacific and Orient Insurance Berhad, Malaysia National Insurance Berhad, The People’s Insurance Co. (Malaysia) Berhad, Talasco Insurance Berhad, and Labuan Reinsurance (L) Ltd.
Dato’s Majid is also currently a board member of University Malaysia Pahang (UMP).
Chris Eng is the Chief Strategy Officer of Etiqa Insurance and Takaful, where he is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives and marketing plans to support Etiqa's long-term growth. Under him, Etiqa ventured into Indonesia, strengthened its position in the Philippines, and started operations in Cambodia. In recent years, Etiqa has rolled out a Robotic Process Automation, continued its Digitalisation agenda, and embarked on its Sustainability journey. All of this contributed to Etiqa growing to be the 5th largest ASEAN owned insurer with a Number 1 brand position in Malaysia. Prior to his current role, he was the Head of Research/Products and Alternative Investments, where he set up the Equities and Fixed Income Research teams in Etiqa while personally specialising in broad macro-economic trends that could affect investment markets. He has over 20 years of experience in identifying market trends and business improvement opportunities, having previously worked as a research analyst, an engineer, and a management consultant around the region.
Mr Van Kempen was appointed the Chief Commercial Officer of Ageas Asia since 2013. Prior to this, he was the Director of Products & Operations at Ageas Asia. He brings with him over 20 years of experience in the international life insurance industry, including his appointments at Prudential Asia Corporation and ING Asia Pacific. Mr Kempen is currently a Director of Etiqa Life Insurance Berhad, Etiqa General Insurance Berhad, Muang Thai Insurance Public Company Limited, Ageas Asia Services Limited, and East West Ageas Life Insurance Corporation. He chairs the Investment Committee and is a member of the Risk Management committee of Etiqa Singapore. Mr Kempen is also a Fellow of the Dutch Actuarial Association and Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.
Head, Labuan Operations
Rosfadzilani Ghani has vast experience and knowledge in various fields, especially in regards to Labuan Insurance-related Entities within her 25 years of service with Etiqa Offshore.
She holds a Diploma in Secretarial Science, a Certificate in Insurance from the Malaysian Insurance Institute, and is a Certified Compliance Professional by the International Academy of Business and Financial Management. She is also a Member of The Malaysian Insurance Institute.
Idzuddin Zakaria leads the company's Business Development strategy and oversees any ongoing marketing efforts for Etiqa Offshore International Ltd. He also supervises the client servicing team, ensuring that we maintain a high standard of deliverables to our clients.
Idzuddin has more than 25 years of experience in various sectors of the Insurance industry from underwriting, broking, to reinsurance. He has also served as Council Member in the Labuan International Insurance Association during his previous attachment with an international ReTakaful entity in Labuan.
Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar is an expert in various Shariah advisory and consultancy matters related to the Labuan Islamic Financial Industry, especially in regards to the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA)’s regulations. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) at the Central Bank of Malaysia, the Securities Commission of Malaysia, the LFSA, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), Kazakhstan, the First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB). He is also the Chairman of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) as well as the 8th President of the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
He has been honoured with an “Award of Excellence for Outstanding Contribution for Shariah Leadership and Advisory”, London Sukuk Summit Awards 2016 “Shariah Advisor Award”, The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Award 2015, and “Anugerah Perdana Maulidur Rasul” by the Government of Malaysia (2014).
Chock Siew Fung has over 20 years of extensive experience in handling accounting, auditing, administration, and quality management field. She is a Member of The Malaysian Insurance Institute.
Priorly, she was the Head of Finance of IOI Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (Palm Oil Refinery) for 10 years in the Human Resource and Administrative Department.
Norzainab graduated with a Bachelor in Accountancy (Honors) and Certificate of Insurance from the Malaysian Insurance Institution 2012. She is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and The Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII).
She has 15 years of experience in handling various clients’ portfolios in various backgrounds in reinsurance, brokers, and captives. She majors in the areas of finance and accounting, budget and cash flow forecast/projections, and treasury.
Amierah Ratna has 16 years of experience in Management Services, and is currently in charge of compliance and risk management for Etiqa Offshore as well as performing Internal Audit functions for clients in compliance with the LFSA’s rules and regulations.
She holds a Master of Finance (International Finance), a Degree of Bachelor in International Financial Economics, a Diploma from the Malaysian Insurance Institute, and a Diploma in Public Administration. She is a Member of The Malaysian Insurance Institute and Malaysia Young Shariah Scholars Association.
Romeo graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship (Health Entrepreneurship) and is a Member of The Malaysian Insurance Institute.
He has 2 years of working experience in Management Services and is currently in charge of preparing and handling Compliance Reports for clients to comply with LFSA’s rules and regulations.
